Krka National Park
Canyons, waterfalls and lush vegetation
A territory with an area of 109 km2 around the basin of the river Krka National Park proclaimed in 1985 This is the second most visited park of Croatia, a green valley amidst the arid landscape.
General summary
The river is surrounded by exuberant vegetation with over 860 plant species, it is home to rare species of fish, amphibians and reptiles. It is also a remarkable ornithological territory with more than 210 species from nesting.
7 waterfalls of Krka is a major attraction of the park, with waterfalls crossing the barriers of limestone, forming a most impressive staircase of 17 steps at an altitude of 46 m.
This park has many natural monuments but also cultural and historical sites, including a Franciscan convent stood on its island in the middle of a lake, a Roman aqueduct, medieval fortresses or watermills traditional rural construction and the remains of a hydroelectric plant in 1895.
To visit
An educational tour of 2 kms on trails and boardwalks to discover the park and its waterfalls 1 hour ride.
One place is arranged near the main waterfall to swim in this rare environment. A small ethno village this habitat and traditional antiques.

Access to National Park Kornati
The Krka National Park is located 10 kms from the city of Sibenik, between Zadar (73 km) and Split (92 km).
There are two main entrances
- Skradin (18 km from Sibenik): a boat takes you to the park entrance 3 kms, you can walk there.
- Lozovac (12km from Sibenik): Leaving the car park and a bus takes you to the park, 800 meters below or you can visit on foot.
Buses and boats do not run from November to February.
