Trogir, 20 km northwest of Split, is a small town whose historic center is classified as a 'protected cultural monument' by UNESCO. It is a lively little tourist town whose center is located on a small island, connected by a bridge to the mainland on one side and to the island of Ciovo on the other side.
Trogir is a museum town with its picturesque narrow streets and squares, its Renaissance, Romanesque and Gothic buildings such as the St. Lawrence Cathedral, one of the most beautiful Renaissance monuments in Europe, the Town Hall and other churches, andits fort of the 15th century.The alleys in the heart of stones of the city lead to the quays along which are moored all kinds of boats.You will appreciate the colorful market with its local products, in the Mediterranean atmosphere.On the coast and on the island of Ciovo you will find many small beaches and the city is well served by the bus network and the airport of Split nearby.
